“We catalyze advances in marine ecology by fostering communication between scientists, resource managers, industry and the public.”
 We are a small business company that conducts basic research in marine ecology in collaboration with government, academic and business partners.  We are particularly interested in nurturing the process of technogenesis* of marine ecology related technology in local, regional and national institutions. We find innovative new applications for existing technology and identify new technologies needed for marine ecology and conservation sciences.  We also work to enhance the transfer of knowledge among industry, academic and resource management professionals and aid these professionals in communicating with the public. At META we feel strongly that public education on marine biology and resource issues, and how new technologies are developed and applied to these issues, is a critical component of technogenesis on all geographic scales.
